Another month in the books – another great meeting. Marie put on another spectacular show as the “membership lady”. There was a round robin reveal. The Show & Tell offered more proof of member talents. And the program offered by Cynthia Regone looked terrific.

As promised at the meeting – I’ve entered everyone’s email that I can gather from last year’s membership list. That means some of you getting this are no longer members or just plain don’t want any kind of updates, auction news, charity bee stuff, etc. If that’s true – please just let me know.
Some won’t get this because they weren’t on the membership list last year. I’ll try to add new members as I become aware. Everyone is signed up for Updates, AHQG Auction & Uncategorized. The Uncategorized is necessary as we often forget to put topics on our posts. Also – will be working with Joanne Krepps on getting a good list for Charity. If you were already signed up for the Charity blog – you will continue to get any new postings from Joanne.
Our meeting this month brought the feeling of fall along with the thrill of winning (chinese auction). Take a peek at the photos from our meeting here. When your’e done with that go here to see the pictures of some the members great talents on display at the Show & Tell here. If you’ve misplaced your newsletter your can find it listed along with the correction page on the Newletter page – here.
Here are the postings from this month’s meeting. We had a great meeting – eating salads – go here to see those pics. Of course, we had our Show & Tell – which featured (well, at least it included) yours truly – go here. And go here to see our President’s BIG REVEAL and finally – I’ve added a post below which features some interesting work on a project to replace paper towels! (if you don’t see the post below – click here)
What are they doing? That was the most common question at our August ’16 meeting. Kathleen & her daughter were making rolls of ‘paper’ towels – pieces of cloth sewn together and rolled together with velcro. Big difference – when your done with yor towel – it goes into the laundry. VERY GREEN AND MAKES A LOT OF ECONOMICAL SENSE.

It just seems to get hotter and hotter in San Antonio. Not to be out done by the weather – the Alamo Heritage Quilt Guild once again put on a very top notch – and dare we say HOT meeting. The show & Tell was super this month (we have to stay inside – so might as well quilt). And Marcia Henry’s program and trunk show were terrific. Is everyone now ready to use this great new curve tool? Our Newletter queen had a surprise! And speaking of Newsletters – the July Newsletter is posted as well.
Thanks to Joanne Krebbs for capturing photos for the June Meeting. If you’re interested in the Show & Tell – go here. Then there’s the wonderful trunk show put on by Doris Rice – go here. And if you’re looking for June’s Newsletters – go here.
The meeting this month was memorable. First of all, the desserts were FABULOUS! I should know – I brought one of them. Man do May birthdays know how to celebrate! But I digress. The Show and Tell was its’ usual success – so make sure you stop in there and get a peek (click here to get on over there). Also – fellow member, Cathy Kropp presented a really engaging program centered on paper piecing. Go HERE to see pics from here presentaton Isn’t it wonderful to be in an organization with so much talent, and such varied interests! Thanks, Cathy. also – some photos of the Tres Amigas latest efforts can be found HERE
The amazing ‘Tres Amigas’ have come out of retirement just in time to display some wonderful quilts for charity. The theme they used obviously centered on Halloween, and are sure to become treasures to some children in need later this year. Welcome back ladies!! And great work!
